Who Is Phoebe Hofsteede?

Phoebe Hofsteede is an Artist, Photographer, and Creative Art Therapy Practitioner based in Meanjin (Brisbane), Australia.

As a photographic mixed media artist, Phoebe works mostly with portrait & landscape photography, to then use as the basis of her mixed media artworks.
Phoebe has developed her style over the last 15 years through studying Visual Arts at QUT and Photography at QCA, which provided her the ability to combine her love of collage & crafting with her photographs.

When working with mixed media, Phoebe is able to bring back a sense of craftsmanship to her work, creating unique pieces using real pressed flowers, vintage collage cuttings, paint and metallic inks - enhancing elements of surrealism, magic & mystery to her imagery. This style of working allows Phoebe to express personal reflections, old-world nostalgia and her deep love of nature.

Phoebe’s commissioned photography work allows her to explore her interest in story telling, fine details, and shedding light on magical people & places. Phoebe is able to connect with her subjects personally through collaboration, bringing a shared vision to life in the form of still imagery. She loves supporting and empowering women in heart-led businesses, including events within the same realm of personal growth & exploration.

Recently, Phoebe has began her journey as a Creative Art Therapy Practitioner, sharing her love of healing through art. Phoebe is an advocate for mental health awareness, having gone through many years of anxiety & depression herself, and always found solace in creating.
Studying a diploma in Holistic Integrated Creative Art Therapy at the Australian School of Holistic Counselling provided Phoebe further tools to understanding psychology of the human mind, and how creative expression aids the mind-body connection in order to heal physically, mentally & spiritually.
