Nature Mandala Art as creative therapy
One of Phoebe’s specialities is creating mandala art; whether that be botanical mandala prints using nature, paper & ink, or large nature madala displays using mostly locally sourced flowers foliage, seeds & stones.
Botanical mandalas reflect the circle of life and are a symbol of the ever changing seasons we face throughout life.
Mandala, meaning circle in Sanskrit, is a geometric design organised around a unifying centre.
Throughout many cultures & spiritual pratices, the mandala is used as a form of prayer or meditation.
The process of creating and viewing a nature mandala have multiple benefits including:
Mindfulness and relaxation
Engages the senses, bringing you to the present moment
Develops fine motor skills
Creates a sense of control when using hands to build a reoccuring pattern
Brings a sense of calm when viewing a reoccuring pattern
Ignites creativity, curiosity and problem solving skills
Builds a better connection to & appreciation of nature
